Distressed….. So Very Grateful for You

Tonight I was able to use some materials that were new to me. When one of my local craft stores closed (sniffle here), I got some great deals on stamps. I had no idea how I was going to use them, but I knew I would find a way. One of those stamp sets was Tim Holtz' Haberdashery from Stampers Anonymous. Well, to make a long story short, Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge is D is for Distress and that was just the inspiration I needed to use this stamp set.  When I think distress, I think Tim Holtz.

I started out using Strathmore 140lb mixed media paper for the main image.  I stamped the dress form stamp in VersaMark and heat embossed it with Zing! Chestnut embossing powder.  I created a mask using the same stamp on a post it note and covered the dress form.  I then stamped the script stamp from Tim Holtz' Papillon stamp set over the card front.  I heat embossed that with Ranger's Super Fine Detail embossing powder in clear.  I created the sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp set Beautiful Words and Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink and cut it into a banner.

Now here is where the real fun starts….. using my ink blending tools, I colored the background with Victorian Velvet, Antique Linen and Iced Spruce distress inks.  I distressed the edges after cutting the image down to 4 x 5.25.  I wrapped some twine I picked up from my local art supply store around the card front and tied a little bow. I popped up the sentiment banner (that I also colored with Antique Linen distress ink) over the twine. I popped up the entire card front over a mat of Stampin Up Chocolate Chip card stock and adhered it to a card made from Neenah 110lb. Solar White paper.

I am happy with this card and had a fun time with the Haberdashery set.  I am also entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge D is for Distress.

Below are the products that I used that I could find in Simon Says Stamp.  Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer them.  Thank you for stoping by my blog!
